Building With Attitude

You can mark it down.  The attitudes inside you are like a jack-in-the-box.  When you least expect it, they will pop out and cause other people to like you or dislike you.  Louder than the words you speak is the attitude that keeps telling people what you are really like.” -Dale Galloway

Bad animals hidden behind the walls:

•     Glory Hogs

•     Selfish Sloths

•     Proud Peacocks

•     Wounded Wildebeests

KEY TRUTH- I CAN’T CHANGE ALWAYS CHOOSE OR CHANGE MY CIRCUMSTANCES, BUT I CAN ALWAYS CHOOSE MY ATTITUDE.

Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect. Romans 12:2 NIV

Attitudes that Build:

1.       Honoring

Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility of mind regard one another as more important than yourselves; Philippians 2:3

2.       Helpful

Do not merely look out for your own personal interests, but also for the interests of others. Phil. 2:4

 3.       Humble

Have this attitude in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus, who, although He existed in the form of God, did not regard equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied Himself, taking the form of a bond-servant, and being made in the likeness of men. Being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. Phil. 2:5-8 NIV

4.       Hopeful

For this reason also, God highly exalted Him, and bestowed on Him the name which is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee will bow, of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and that every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. Philippians 2:9-11 NIV
