The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me, because the Lord has anointed me to bring good news to the afflicted; He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to captives and freedom to prisoners; to proclaim the favorable year of the Lord and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all who mourn, to grant those who mourn in Zion, giving them a garland instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, the mantle of praise instead of a spirit of fainting. So they will be called oaks of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified. Isaiah 61:1-3
The inner healing work of Jesus
1. He replaces brokenness with wholeness.
He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted. (v. 1)
2. He rescues me from the traps of the enemy.
To proclaim liberty to captives… (v.1)
3. He frees me up
.…and release from darkness for the prisoners. (v. 1)
The Inner work of Jesus enables me to:
1. Face my future victoriously.
to grant those who mourn in Zion, giving them a garland instead of ashes. (v. 3)
2. Dream new dreams and be inspired to new hopes.
[Giving them] the oil of gladness instead of mourning, (v. 3)
3. Praise God, consistently even when I want to give it all up.
[Giving them] the mantle of praise instead of a spirit of fainting. (v. 3)
So they will be called oaks of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified. Then they will rebuild the ancient ruins, they will raise up the former devastations; and they will repair the ruined cities, the desolations of many generations. Isaiah 61:4
Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you entirely; and may your spirit and soul and body be preserved complete, without blame at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. Faithful is He who calls you, and He also will bring it to pass. 1 Thessalonians 5:23-24
